*Bloom's 2 sigma finding came from small sample experiments at the University of Chicago, conducted in controlled conditions and combining one on one (or small group) tutoring with mastery learning techniques. Later reviews have noted that the original effect size is difficult to reproduce at scale, and that real world outcomes depend heavily on tutor quality, curriculum design, and how engaged a student is. We treat the research as direction, not a guaranteed outcome.

Why eleven methods, when one explanation feels like enough?
Because one brilliant explanation is never enough. Real understanding comes from layering many methods on top of each other, until nothing slips through.
The Swiss Cheese Model comes from aviation safety. The idea is simple: no single safeguard is perfect; every one of them has holes. But if you stack enough of them, the holes stop lining up, and almost nothing slips through.
